The Scandinavian Workshop on Applied Eye Tracking (SWAET) is an interdisciplinary meeting place for graduate students, researchers, industry, and other people using eye tracking as a measurement tool. The 6th SWAET took place at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm on May 2-4, 2012.

The program included 25 talks and 11 poster presentations. The main themes concerned eye tracking methodology and how eye tracking can be used to learn about language and learning, perception and cognition, visual search in decision making, and viewing behaviours when interpreting medical images.

We were delighted to have Dr. Daniel C. Richardson from University College, London, and Dr. Zo Kapoula from the European Hospital Georges Pompidou, Paris, as keynote speakers at the workshop.

The workshop started Wednesday afternoon at St. Erik Eye Hospital with the traditional eye tracking methods lecture and a get-together party. The plenary sessions were held at Karolinska Institutet on Thursday and Friday. Exhibits and posters were on display outside the lecture hall.

SWAET 2012 was hosted by the Bernadotte Laboratories at St. Erik Eye Hospital, Karolinska Institutet and was organized in collaboration with the Lund Humanities Lab. The event was supported by Tobii Technology. Workshop chairs were Dr. Tony Pansell and Dr. Gustaf qvist Seimyr.
